Geaux Brewing will host a “Big Brew” on May 5 in honor of all homebrewers. The American Homebrewers Association (AHA) created AHA Big Brew as an annual, worldwide celebration of National Homebrew Day. AHA Big Brew is held each year on the first Saturday in May and unites homebrewers from around the world to gather around the brew kettle. “This is going to be a fun event,” Jeremy, owner of Geaux Brewing, shared, “Right on our patio, we’ll have homebrewers demonstrating the art and science of beer-making. Good people sharing a good beer while making good beer. And even if you’re a pro, the process is the same. We all started out as homebrewers.”
At 1 pm PST, all of the homebrewers and beer lovers will gather for a toast and group photo as “Big Brew” is underway. Geaux is anticipating close to a dozen homebrew setups going from 10:00 until 6 pm. On this same day, all around the world thousands will raise their glasses for a toast to homebrewing and the homebrewers that craft outstanding homemade beer, mead, and wine. This year’s official recipes—which were handpicked by Charlie Papazian himself—are Rocky Raccoon’s Honey Lager and Dusty Mud Irish-style Stout.
